Bran Muffins

I love, love, love this recipe, especially now that it is getting a little more chilly. These keep up to six weeks in the refrigerator, so I can just pop some in the oven any time I want!

Boil and let cool:

2 c. water
5 tsp. baking soda

Mix:

1 c. shortening
4 eggs
2 c. bran buds
4 c. all-bran
1 qt. buttermilk
5 c. flour
2 c. sugar
1 t. salt

Combine mixes. Pour desired amout of muffins into greased muffin pan. Bake 20 minutes at 400 degrees.

These taste really yummy with just some butter, or add a little honey for some sweet.
